Analysing: Kerrang!

Front Cover: KERRANG!
The Kerrang magazine makes it clear what the main article in the magazine is about. It has done this by putting a the band member Gerrard Way in a mid shot on the cover. This photo of him is pointing out to the audience to attract their attention. The band name ‘My Chemical Romance’ has then been placed over the photograph. This works well as it leaves no mistakes or misleading to the audience, anyone finding the magazine will immediately recognise what it is about.

The main cover is busy but functional. There are three more pictures on the bottom left hand side. More writing above the right and left corner in columns. It has two banners, and a code bar. There is no spare space left anywhere on the magazine. However despite this it is still easy to read, and viewers are easily able to tell what the articles on the magazine about.

Double Page Spread: KERRANG!

The double page spread of Kerrang is neat and easy to read. The main page has two simple black columns for of an interview that is easy to read. The other page a large photograph of the band. Unlike the front cover the band is not surrounded by any writing. The background is plain, and simple. This makes it easy to read and the picture of the band is easy to see.

The band photograph has been taken and edited well. The background is a light grey colour and this takes up all the background of the page. The photograph has been cropped to take up most of the second page, and some of the first. This makes it easy and interesting to look at for viewers.
